Job Description THIS POSITION IS FEDERAL WORK STUDY ONLY AND REQUIRES U.S. CITIZENSHIP. J1 & F1 VISA’S DO NOT QUALIFY. Assists in the delivery of financial aid services, to provide financial access to Kent State University students while ensuring compliance with various federal, state, and institutional regulations. This position provides administrative support to the Professional Judgement area and assists with the general functions of the Student Financial Aid Office, including submitting FAFSA corrections and awarding financial aid. Duties & Responsibilities: 1.Review and prepare Professional Judgement documents for data entry. 2.Perform various data entry projects on the computer system such as entering applications, updating financial aid status, and sending notifications to students. 3.File and scan Professional Judgement documents. 4.Process Professional Judgement applications in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. 5.Review student need analysis information (tax returns, W-2 forms, worksheets, etc.) to verify that the FAFSA was completed accurately. Submit corrections to the federal processor as necessary. 6.Request documentation from students and parents that substantiates information being provided on the Professional Judgement application. 7.Assist in reviewing student eligibility for federal, state, and institutional grant programs as well as awarding or adjusting financial aid based on corrections that were made to the FAFSA. 8.Provide assistance to the Verification area as needed. 9.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).

Skills 1.Must be available to work during the summer break. 2.Strong data entry skills. 3.Strong attention to detail. 4.Excellent organization skills. 5.Experience with Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel. 6.Ability to communicate effectively with students and families as well as office staff and supervisors. 7.Familiar with tax documents including Federal Income Tax Returns and W-2 forms. 8.Previous experience working in an office setting is preferred.
