Portage County NAACP / Kent State University Scholarship
Description:
Awarded to a graduating senior from a Portage County, Ohio high school who is a member of an underrepresented population in higher education (African-American, Hispanic, or Native American). Eligible students must enroll full-time at the Kent Campus and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid at www.FAFSA.gov and have the results sent to Kent State University. Students must have a minimum 3.35 cumulative high school GPA. Selection is made by the Portage County NAACP and the Student financial Aid Office at Kent State University. A Complete application must be submitted by the deadline date. Recipient must be available to attend the Portage County NAACP Brunch on May 18, 2019 @ 10:00am at Ravenna High School.

Albert Peoples Academic Excellence/Portage County Branch NAACP
Description:
Awarded to an incoming freshman who, as a high school senior, is attending a high school within Portage County. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and therefore must complete the 2019-2020 FAFSA at www.fafsa.gov. To be considered for the scholarship, students must have a 2.8 cumulative High School GPA and designate an ethnicity of African American, Hispanic, or native American on their Kent State admissions application. Must be available to attend the Portage County NAACP Scholarship Brunch on Sat. May 18, 2019 from 10:00am to 11:30am at Ravenna High School. Applications available from your H.S. Guidance Counselor (Portage County H.S. only) or email the Kent State Student Financial Aid Office at finaid_scholarships@kent.edu for application.
