Founders Scholarship Program
Description:
Founders scholarships are prestigious merit-based tuition scholarships offered to talented high school students who will be attending the Kent Campus of Kent State University. Scholarship awards are made to incoming freshmen and are renewable for four years. Incoming students must submit a complete application for admission to the Kent Campus of Kent State University (application, fee, test scores and high school transcript) by January 15. To be considered for this award, students must have a minimum 3.5 cumulative high school GPA and a minimum 25 ACT composite (or 1140 combined SAT critical reading and math scores). The Founders Scholarship Program is very competitive with a limited number of scholarships available each year. The Founders Scholarship can be applied to Kent Campus tuition only.

Hakoah Club Scholarship
Description:
Awarded to an incoming freshman from Akron or an Akron suburb. Based on GPA, ACT/SAT test scores, and participation in extracurricular activities. Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA. Incoming students will be automatically considered for freshman scholarships at the Kent Campus by submitting a complete application for admission by January 15. Freshmen applying after this date will be considered for scholarships if funds are available.

International Student Scholarship
Description:
Available to international incoming freshmen students admitted to Kent State University, who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United Students. International incoming transfer students or international students currently enrolled at Kent State University are not eligible for the award. Selection is based on GPA; test scores (SAT/TOEFL); and participation in extracurricular activities, honors, awards, volunteer activities, etc. as described in required essay(s). Kent Campus Connection Scholarship
Description:
Awarded to Regional Campus students who are transitioning to the Kent Campus. Full-time Kent Campus enrollment (12 hours per semester) is required to receive this scholarship. Requisites: 30+ hours completed at a Kent State Regional Campus, full time (24 hours) enrollment at Kent Campus, 3.0+ college GPA. Contact the Admissions Office for application information. Submit the application by June 15.

Kent State Bound Scholarship
Description:
Incoming transfer students from Cuyahoga Community College, Lakeland Community College and Lorain county Community College, who are admitted to the Kent Campus of Kent State University. Students must have completed a minimum 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) at one of the above institutions and have a minimum college cumulative GPA of 3.0. Selection process is competative and 25 awards are available each year. The Kent State Bound Scholarship is to be used for Kent Campus tuition only.

Description:
Awarded to an academically talented incoming freshman attending the Kent Campus of Kent State University who has a parent, grandparent, aunt, or uncle who graduated from Kent State University and is a member of the Kent State University Alumni Association. Selection based on GPA and ACT/SAT test scores. To be considered for the scholarship, individuals must complete the 2010-2011 Kent State University Online Student Financial Aid Scholarship Application and the Undergraduate Application for Admission by the deadline date.

Oscar Ritchie Memorial Scholarship
Description:
The Oscar Ritchie Memorial Scholarship is a merit-based, Kent Campus scholarship available to incoming freshmen who are a member of an underrepresented population in higher education(African-American, Hispanic, or Native American). To be considered for this award, students must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative high school GPA. Incoming freshmen students admitted to the Kent Campus by the deadline date will be automatically considered for this scholarship. Freshmen applying for admission after this date will be considered for the scholarship only if funds are available. This scholarship can only be used toward Kent Campus tuition, room or board charges.

Paul Litchfield Association Scholarship
Description:
Available to a child of a Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company or domestic subsidiaries employee with five or more years of service or retiree. Selection is based on cumulative high school GPA and test scores (ACT or SAT) and financial need. To be considered for the scholarship, individuals must complete the online 2010-2011 Kent State University Student Financial Aid Scholarship Application. The Litchfield Scholarship requires student applicants to submit the full name, social security number, and employer of the parent employee on the additional required fields included in the online application. Incoming freshman applying after the deadline date will be considered this award only if funds are available.

Description:
Available to out-of-state incoming freshmen students. Students must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA, 23 ACT composite or combined 1050 critical reading and math on SAT. All out-of-state incoming freshmen who complete their application for admission to the Kent Campus by January 15 will be considered for this award. Selection is based on cumulative high school (GPA) and test scores (ACT or SAT). To be considered for this award, students must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.25. Incoming freshmen students who submit a complete Application for Admission by January 15 will be automatically considered for this scholarship. Freshmen applying after this date will be considered for this award only if funds are available. The Trustee Scholarship can only be used toward tuition at the Kent Campus of Kent State University.

University Award - Incoming Freshmen
Description:
The University Award will cover one half of the out-of-state tuition surcharge for students who are residents of a U.S. state outside of Ohio and not eligible for in-state tuition. International students who are not U.S. citizens or Permenant Residents are not eligible for this award. Incoming freshmen must have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 OR a 21 composite ACT score or a 980 combined critical reading and math score on the SAT. Incoming freshman students may receive the University Award for a total of eight semesters. All out-of-state incoming freshmen students who complete the Undergraduate Application for Admission will be considered for this award.

University Award for Transfer Students
Description:
The University Award is available to incoming transfer students with a minimum college cumulative GPA of 2.25 (on a 4.0 scale), who are US Citizens or permanent residents, and are residents of any state outside of Ohio. Incoming out-of-state transfer students will be automatically considered for the University Award for Transfer Students at any Kent State University campus by submitting a complete Application for Admission. Students who have already completed a bachelor^s degree are not eligible for the award. The number of semesters of renewal will be based on the number of hours accepted as transfer credits to Kent State University. Students must maintain a minimum 2.25 cumulative GPA at Kent State to qualify for renewal of the University Award. Students must be plan to enroll full time to qualify.
