Exit Loan Counseling
The United States Department of Education requires all students who have received a Direct Loan from Kent State University to complete "exit counseling". A student must complete exit counseling when they exit the university, drop to less than half time enrollment status or graduate. Exit counseling informs you of your rights and responsibilities regarding the repayment process.

There are two options available to you to complete the exit counseling requirements.

  1. You will be able to complete the exit counseling requirements at the Grad Fair.

For students graduating Summer 2008, the fair will be held Tuesday, July 8th, 11 am - 7 pm & Wednesday, July 9th, 11 am - 6 pm at the Kent Student Center. Please bring with you two complete references (name, address and phone numbers), your driver's license and a pen/pencil. Information regarding the time and location will be sent to you by the Ceremonies Office.
Click here for more information about commencement or Imagine Graduation.

  2. You are able to complete exit counseling on the web, via the Direct Loan Servicing Center web site, www.dlssonline.com

You will need your Department of Education PIN to access your exit counseling information. To obtain another copy of your PIN or request a PIN, go to www.pin.ed.gov. It will take approximately two weeks to receive your PIN in the mail. Once you receive your PIN, you will be able to access your exit counseling requirements under ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT on the Direct Loan servicer web site. Follow the directions listed.

After successfully completing the required quiz, print the final page and submit it to:
