Bursar Bill

Q. How do I view my financial aid on my e-bill and current account balance?
A. Any awarded financial aid will be listed on your e-bill under the “Estimated Financial Aid” and on your account detail. See the link to the document below provided by the Bursar's Office for further details on how to view your e-bill and current account balance online. You may also contact the Bursar's Office at (330) 672-2626 if you have difficulty understanding your e-bill or online account summary.

Transferring to Another School

Q. I am leaving KSU for another school. What do I need to do about financial aid?
A. 1. Call our office to cancel your remaining aid. 2. Go online to your FAFSA and add the new school code. 3. Contact your new school regarding your Financial Aid Awards at that institution.

Accessing your Financial Aid Information Online

Q. How do I view my financial aid awards and updates online?
A. (1.) Log onto http://flashline.kent.edu (2.) Sign in using your @kent.edu username and password (3.) Click on the "Student Tools" on the menu bar (4.) Under "My Account" click Financial Aid (5.) View all information under Financial Aid Status, Eligibility and Awards. If you need assistance with your username and password, please call the KSU Help Desk at: (330)672-HELP

FAFSA

Q. When is the deadline to complete the FAFSA?
A. The priority processing date is March 1st. To ensure consideration for the most aid available, we encourage you to submit the online FAFSA to the Federal Processor by February 1st. However, financial aid is awarded year-round on a rolling basis. Students who miss the priority processing date will be considered for Financial Aid and should submit the FAFSA. Please note: It may take 2-3 weeeks to process a FAFSA and award aid.

Office Hours

Q. What are the Student Financial Aid Office hours?
A. Our office is open from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. Appointments are not necessary. A walk-in counselor is available to meet with you in-person and our phone counselors are available during business hours. We remain open during winter & spring breaks. The Student Financial Aid website is always available 24/7 to provide in depth Financial Aid information and assistance.

Summer Financial Aid

Q. I plan to attend summer school, how do I apply for summer financial aid?
A. To request summer aid, you must complete 3 steps: 1) Submit the 2009-2010 FAFSA after January 1st, 2) Register for Summer classes, and 3)Submit the Summer Aid Request form on our website (see the link below). Please allow 2-3 weeks for your summer aid request to process.

Incoming Freshman - Financial Aid Results

Q. I am an incoming freshman and have already filed the FAFSA, when will I hear about my financial aid?
A. We will begin mailing Financial Aid Award letters for incoming freshmen by mid March.

Refund Checks

Q. When will I receive my refund check?
A. By federal regulation, Financial Aid disburses 10 days before the start of each semester. To determine the amount of your refund and when it will process, please refer to your Flashline Bursar's Account or contact the Bursars Office for all questions regarding refunds.
