When Will I Be Billed?
If you have registered for classes during preregistration, you will receive your bill for summer in early May, fall semester in mid-July and spring semester in late November. If you did not preregister, check wfs.kent.edu for current charges.

How Much Will I Owe?
The Kent State University Bursar’s Office manages all billing and payments to student accounts. You may view your account balance on wfs.kent.edu. Log on to www.kent.edu/bursar for current tuition, fees, room and board schedules.

If you are interested in getting an estimate of your out of pocket expenses, we encourage you to complete the KSU Expense Calculator. The Expense Calculator will help you project your semester costs and anticipate any payment obligations. Planning is the key to ensuring that anticipated expenses will be covered by your financial aid, income or savings, and family assistance.

How Do I Get My Excess Financial Aid?
If you are enrolled for classes, university and federal financial aid that is not estimated on your bill will disburse directly to your student account. Each semester, the first disbursement of funds takes place 10 days prior to the first day of class and weekly throughout the semester.

If you met all requirements, you will receive a refund for the excess funds at your local address or you can request the refund be direct deposited to your checking account. You may use your funds to purchase books, supplies, rent for off-campus housing and other miscellaneous expenses.

Please note: Your refund will be based on the number of hours you are registered for at the time of disbursement. If you add classes after you have received your refund, you are responsible for full payment of all new charges.

What If My Circumstances Have Changed?
You may request a review of your financial aid eligibility if your family’s financial situation has changed since you filed the FAFSA due to:

• unemployment of parent or spouse
• death or disability of parent or spouse
• separation or divorce (for you or your parents)

If you have other unusual circumstances, please call the Student Financial Aid Office to ask if your situation qualifies for review.

What Happens If I Change My Enrollment?
The aid package offered is based on the enrollment you indicated on the FAFSA. Your aid will be adjusted accordingly to comply with Federal and State Financial Aid regulations if your final enrollment is other than what you indicated. Also, please note that we may be required to modify you r award due to future changes in eligibility or due to the availability of funding.

If your enrollment status increases (Example: You go from 9 credit hours to 12 credit hours) after you have received your refund, you are responsible for full payment of all new charges.

If you enrollment status decreases (Example: You go from 12 credit hours to 9 credit hours) after you have received your refund, it is your responsibility to contact the Bursars Office or check WFS to see if you are liable for repayment of funds to the University.
